Stresses, however, that the increased economic activity associated with blue growth must not come at the expense of marine and coastal ecosystems and must be compatible with the environmental objectives of the Maritime Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD)adhere to the environmental objectives of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) and must not be prioritised over the health of our marine and coastal ecosystems, which are extremely sensitive and amongst the first to suffer from the impacts of climate change;
