For the purpose of this article, ‘relevant precautionary measures’ means, for example, the cultivation of plant varieties suitable to the location.

Protein crops grown on areas which are fully sown and which are cultivated in accordance with local standards but which do not attain the stage of lactic ripeness as a result of exceptional weather conditions recognised by the Member State concerned, shall remain eligible for aid provided that the areas in question are not used for any other purpose up to this stage. For clover and lucerne crops the amount of the aid shall be EUR 80 provided that the areas are mown at least twice a year and the cuttings are used for animal feed.
