Takes the view that there is very great potential for the USA and the European Union to take joint positions and initiatives in international fora, in view of the many common trade interests, for example non-discriminatory access to raw materials on the global market, the implementation of intellectual property rights and global patent harmonisation; suggests that it is in both parties' interests to exploit this potential better;
