Stresses that development of the food quality policy, not least as regards geographical indications (AOP/IGP/STG), must be a priority axis of the CAP and that it must be deepened and strengthened to enable the EU to maintain its leading position in this field; considers that approval should be granted for the implementation of innovative instruments for the management, protection and promotion of quality products, enabling their harmonious development and ensuring they continue to make a major contribution to the sustainable growth and competitiveness of the European market;
