Considers that eCall should be a public technology-neutral EU-wide emergency call system, utilising embedded in the -vehicle andsystems, based on 112 and on common pan-European standards, in order to ensure a reliable and affordable service that can work seamlessly and interoperably across Europe in all automobiles, irrespective of make, country or actual location of the vehicle, thus maximising the benefits of eCall for all drivers;
