Notes that special attention should be given to the empowerment of women in the less developed regions of Turkey; welcomes, therefore, the Turkish Government’s projects such as CATOMs (Multi Purpose Society Centres), but underlines the need for more of such initiatives that respect and promote the rights of all women, focusing in particular on the social inclusion of women in rural areas, unemployed women, and women living in poverty;
