Objection pursuant to Rule 115(2) and (3), and (4)(c): Maximum residue levels for carbendazim and thiophanate‐methyl
Os produtos importados de países fora da União Europeia devem cumprir os mesmos critérios de segurança e qualidade, nomeadamente em relação a resíduos de pesticidas, que são exigidos para os produtos produzidos dentro da UE. No caso específico mencionado, os resíduos de carbendazim e tiofanato-metilo, substâncias químicas usadas como pesticidas, já não são permitidos na UE. Portanto, os produtos importados também devem respeitar essa proibição, caso contrário, os agricultores da UE estariam em desvantagem competitiva, porque seriam obrigados a cumprir regras mais rigorosas. Votei a favor.

Continued financial and military support to Ukraine by EU Member States
Devemos repensar as restrições sobre o uso de armas de longo alcance na defesa da Ucrânia. Não podemos conceder ao agressor uma licença para destruir vidas inocentes e reduzir cidades a escombros. A proibição prolongada de atingir território russo concede à Rússia uma licença para matar civis e destruir infraestruturas com impunidade.Este não é apenas um gesto militar – é uma declaração inequívoca de que não permitiremos que a tirania prevaleça sem resistência.Apoiar a Ucrânia é uma obrigação moral, estratégica e histórica. É uma questão de justiça, que define quem somos e aquilo em que acreditamos. É fundamental que a UE e os Estados-Membros trabalhem ativamente com vista a alcançar e manter o mais amplo apoio internacional possível à Ucrânia e alcançar uma solução pacífica para a guerra, que se deve basear no pleno respeito pela independência, soberania e integridade territorial da Ucrânia, nos princípios do direito internacional, na responsabilização pelos crimes de guerra e pelo crime de agressão cometidos pela Rússia.
Situation in Venezuela
Na Venezuela, mais de 2 000 pessoas foram detidas arbitrariamente após as eleições. O líder da oposição teve que fugir. Os partidos políticos enfrentam inúmeras restrições à sua atividade. Sete milhões de venezuelanos fugiram da sua pátria em busca de esperança e dignidade. A última «eleição» de Maduro foi uma farsa. Não há legitimidade numa eleição onde a oposição é silenciada, os votos são manipulados e o povo vive sob o medo de represálias por ousar exigir mudança.Reconhecer a vitória de Edmundo González é um imperativo histórico, moral e estratégico. Pela restauração da verdade. Votei favoravelmente.
