Highlights that eutrophication is one of the key threats to reaching a good ecological status of the Baltic Sea and emphasises the importance of combatting the eutrophication of one of the world’s most polluted seas; therefore, underlines that the effectiveness of the Union macro regional strategy for the Baltic Sea Regregrets that limited progress has been made on nutrient reduction oin the reduction of nutrients is difficult to evaluate and regrets that limited progress has been made on nutrient reduction; andframe of HELCOM's nutrient reduction scheme which allocates nutrient reduction targets to each Baltic country; regrets that the Union directive has been only partially applied by some Members States;
