Considers that members states should encourage companies to develop policies and put in place measures regarding the need to respect the private and family life of all their employees; these policies and measures should conform to the principle of equality, and should extend to negotiations on the length and organization of working hours, salary levels, making certain practical facilities available for workers, and flexible working conditions, including the nature of employment contracts and the availability of career breaks;
