Calls on the Member States and regional and local authorities to look into the lack of professional qualifications in the fishing sector, and of young specialists in particular, so that training programmes for people working in the fishing sector can be tailored to the sector’s actual needs, thereby helping to modernise the sector and take it forward and to retain the population in fishing communities;
