Calls on the EU and its Member States to step up their efforts to combat human trafficking and migrant smuggling and to effectively implement the "Facilitators Package" (Council Directive 2002/90/EC and Council Framework Decision 2002/946) to combat the human smugglers' business model, preventing children, girls, and other vulnerable groups from sexual exploitation and abuse.

Calls on the Commission and the Member States to monitor and assessenhance control measures so that to avoid the risk for the persons being smuggled of becoming victims of trafficking, with a particular focus on the situation of unaccompanied minors and women; underlines, in this context, the need for meffectively enforce legalaws and safe routes for migration in order to prevent the exploitation of vulnerable people with irregular status;enacting stronger sanctions to human traffickers and migrant smugglers.
