Calls on the Commission to address the concerns of professional members of the public regarding the Renewable Energy Directive, in particular the issue of categorising all types of biomass as renewable energy sources, inter alia in relation to the high level of wood pellet imports into the EU and the potential risks that these imports pose to forests in third countries, and to continue to promote other sustainable forms of renewable energy;
