Considers that increased competition brought about by the gradual opening up of the EU road haulage market can bring benefits to consumers, but expresses concern that certain measures being applied by some Member States are undermining the integrity of the single market in this field; believes such measures can be avoided through a better coordination between Member States and calls on the Commission to establish a European Road Agency.
