Reiterates its call for the creation of an European Agency for Tourism, responsible for, inter alia: providing the EU and its Member States with a factual overview and data for policymakers, enabling them to devise informed strategies based on collected and analysed tourism data, including on the possible social, economic and environmental impact of these; operating a crisis management mechanism to ensure that the tourism sector is adequately prepared for future crises, where national responses have proven to be insufficient; providing for technical and administrative support to micro enterprises and SMEs to increase their ability to access and make use of EU funding and financial instruments; supporting the tourism ecosystem by, for instance, sharing good practices to make informed decisions about improving tourism policies; promoting the European brand in third countries and focusing on the diversification of the European tourism product.
