Recognises Turkey’s role as an important partner in solving the Syrian conflict and the fight against Da’esh; calls on Turkey to sever ties with all UN Security Council-designated terrorist organisations, notably Jabhat Fateh al- Sham (formerly Al Nusra Front); strongly condemns the attempted military coup against the democratically elected government of Turkey; encourages the Turkish government to protect the constitutional order, while underlining the importance of respect for the rule of law and independence of the judiciary in the aftermath of the coup, in cooperation with the Council of Europe;
