Encourages the Commission to assess possible alternatives to palm oil for biofuels, which constitute 46% of the palm oil consumed in the European Union, taking into account, in particular, the profitability of palm oil cultivation in comparison with cultivation of other crops for use in biofuels, notably soya oil, and the subsequent competitive advantage of palm oil in terms of price;
