Calls on the Member States to tackledraw the consequences of the current refugee crisis with a holistic strategy that gives priority to the social and economic integration of refugees ahich is placing the peoples of Europe as well as the incoming migrants in a situation of great social and economic precarity; suggests that this precarity should notably be combatted through assimilation policies hinging around basylum seekers, including through educic courses on the history of the country, language and nation andal culture;

Stresses that in order to address the current humanitarian crisis, access to educational services and assistance for refugee children and youth is a precondition for their social inclusion, protection, long-term integration into the labour market and prevention of exploitation; underlines the need to ensure cultural and linguistic mediation as well as the learning of the host country’s language for refugees and asylum seekers, and to develop initiatives for the recognition of competences and qualifications, including through platformsnd notably the uprooting of children and young refugees, long-term solutions need to be implemented in the country of departure that centre on effective co-development policy, particularly in the fields of education and culture, between European nations and countries experiencing wholesale emigration;

Points out that the countries experiencing major emigration are being deprived of the human and economic resources essential to the development and stability of society as a whole; feels, therefore, that the humanitarian aid intended for these countries should encourage their populations to remain in their countries by fine-tuning their school systems and infrastructure so that children and young people there can become the managers and entrepreneurs of the future;

Calls for the EU and the Member States to establish ‘education corridors’ by promoting agreements with European universities andEncourages the EU, through its Member States, to negotiate with countries experiencing vast waves of emigration and countries bordering conflict zones to establish ‘education corridors’ in those areas to allow students from war zones to continue to study as close to home as possible, which would also avoid their being completely uprooted; emphasises the role that could be played, to that effect, by the Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED) toin hosting refugee students coming from conflict areas.;
