Stresses the importance of the validation of skills that have been acquired through informal, non-formal and lifelong learning as their validation is crucial in making visible and valorising the diverse and rich learning of individuals, in particular of those with fewer opportunities, and contributes to the development of values, aptitudes and skills for young people as well as for learning about citizenship and democratic involvement; urges in this regard the Member States to increase their efforts towards setting up comprehensive validation mechanisms by 2018, as stated by the Council Recommendation of 20 December 2012 on the validation of non- formal and informal learning, in close collaboration with all relevant key stakeholders, including youth organisations;
