Supports greater international cooperation to identify EU citizens who are at risk of becoming radicalised and travelling to join jihadist extremist groups, in every case ensuring full respect of the rule of law and protection of fundamental rights and freedoms; further calls for enhanced cooperation between the EU, its Member States, and third countries to divert European citizens from this course of action and to intercept them at the point of exit; argues that the declared intention of some Member States to forbid the re- entry of citizens suspected of jihadism does not seem compatible with international law;
