Expresses concern over numerous reports on cases of arrests without a legal warrant, torture and impunity inside Mongolian jails; joins the UNHRC call for effective measures to guarantee that all detained persons are afforded in practice all the fundamental legal safeguards in accordance with international standards; calls on the Mongolian authorities to ensure that all reports of torture and ill-treatment by public officials, including the police, are investigated promptly, effectively and impartially by an independent mechanism;
