Considers that, in order to make CFP rules more acceptable to the fisheries sector and ensure compliance therewith, fishermen must be more involved in decision making, given incentives such as more aid for innovation and encouraged to use more selective fishing gear, both from a financial perspective and by means of legislative alignment;

4b. Considers it undesirable for the current state of derogations and percentage use limits for Member State fleets to continue insofar as this relates to the innovative, more selective fishing methods, such as electric pulse fishing;
