Welcomes that the Commission will update and further develop guidance documents in all official languages of the EU in order to promote greater understanding of the legislation on the ground and to help public authorities apply it better and calls on the European Commission in this regard to involve and consult all stakeholders in this process;

Welcomes the recognition by the Council on 19 June 2017, that, without jeopardising the conservation objectives and requirements set within the Nature Directives, the flexibility of implementation approaches that take into account specific national circumstances contributes to the reduction and progressive elimination of unnecessary conflicts and problems which have arisen between nature protection and socioeconomic activities, as well as to addressing the practical challenges resulting from the application of the annexes to the Directives;
