Having regard to the increase in private forms of compensation through which private undertakings offer women who are victims of violence financial compensation in return for signing an agreement not to sue the undertaking; whereas States bear the primary responsibility for ensuring compliance with international commitments with respect to indigenous peoples’ rights and must therefore be primarily responsible for avoiding infringements and promoting truth, justice and reparations for the victims;
