Welcomes the proposed EU accession to the Istanbul Convention and calls for the EU and the Member States to ratify the Istanbul Convention as soon as possible to protect, prevent and eliminate all forms of violence against women and domestic violence; reminds Member States that the EU accession does not exonerate them to sign, ratify and enforce the Istanbul Convention and urges them to do so;
