Considers it extremely important to secure a net increase in the appropriations against EU budget lines relating to economic and social cohesion to at least double the current amounts, together with a radical change in the way in which the appropriations are allocated; believes an immediate revision of the MFF also to be extremely important, in order to secure a net increase in the amounts currently provided for, which should be at least doubled; considers it extremely important for the funds for this increase to be made available by raising the contributions of the Member States with the highest GNI and per capita income, which will require changes to be made to the current breakdown among Member States;
