Recalls its resolution on transatlantic relations of 26 March 2009, which underline that the EU-US relationship is the most important strategic partnership for the EU; emphasises the importance of enhancing the awareness and understanding of European issues and perspectives in the United States; urges that the 2010 EU budget should contribute to strengthening ties between the transatlantic partners' civil societies, for instance through student exchanges;
