Notes that the development of collaborative business models permits the optimisation of vehicle and infrastructure use, which while it contributes to meeting these objectives is not a sufficient solution in itself; notes that the growing exploitation of user-generated data could eventually result in the added value created in the transport chain ending in the hands of digital operators, which could have an adverse effect both on the fair distribution of profits and on participation in infrastructure investment, which takes place in the real world, all of which has a direct impact on SMEs;

Warns of the danger that intermediation platforms, with their ‘winner takes all’ ethos, will give rise to monopolies and harm the diversity of the economic fabric, but also notes that these platforms have brought into play the idea of challenging the existing operators and have led Member States to review the structure of the market, considering the possibility of eradicating monopolies;
