WelcomesIs concerned about the measures proposed under the Commission REPowerEU Plan to acceler; points out thate the green transition and to increase the Union’s energy independence; highlights that accelerating the implementation of the European Green Deal will reduce the Union dependency from third countriesEU is currently giving priority to signing agreements and partnerships with the main producers of liquefied natural gas, such as the latest political agreement with the US; draws attention to the harmful effects of those agreements, the effects of extraction of natural gas by means of hydraulic fracturing, which puts people at risk, and the environmental impact of shipping that gas by sea, and to the fact that those effects run counter to the Commission-set goals of the REPowerEU plan and of the European Green Deal;
