Calls on the EU to reinforce its financial commitment to Aid For Trade and technical assistance and capacity building initiatives which are essential to provide African countries with the instruments necessary to take full advantage of EU’s trade preferences. Welcomes in this respect the entry into force in February 2017 of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement which should facilitate customs procedures and thereby decreasing trade costs.

Calls for transparency in trade agreements and for the full participation of the civil societies and parliaments of the countries concerned in future negotiations as well as ind the implementation of agreements currently under negotiationconcluded agreements. Calls on the Commission and the Council to provide appropriate funding so as to ensure the full participation of civil society.
