f) Emphasises that the observance of human rights and international labour and social standards is an essential pillar of economic cooperation between the EU and China; believes that it is important that the rules and core labour standards of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) should be observed and emphasizes in this connection also the responsibility of the companies operating production plants in China or cooperating with suppliers producing goods in China;
