Notes the need to focus on the quality of life of NCD patients whose illnesses cannot be cured but may be stabilised for a number of years; emphasises the importance of specific EU recommendations to improve the quality of life of patients including by integrating comprehensive supportive care into care, starting with the diagnosis and continuing over the course of the disease and by granting access to specialised support centres, by helping Member States to set up comprehensive cancer centres with multidisciplinary professional teams for example;
