Urges that the use of certain types of lethal weapons and other devices for the maintenance of law and order, such as paralysing CS gas grenades or LBD 40 launchers, be banned in line with the observations of the Council of Europe and this Parliament; calls for a total ban on restraining techniques designed to inhibit breathing; calls on the Member States to refrain from adopting restrictive laws on freedom of assembly;
