Regrets the lack of market deployment of research projects under Horizon 2020, and welcomes the planned greater focus on close-to-market activities under Horizon Europe, in particular through the creation of the European Innovation Council; calls for greater use of pre-commercial procurement and for more investment in new energy storage technologies, which are more sustainable and profitable;
