Recalls the current comprehensive discussions in the International Maritime Organization on integrating new and emerging technologies, such as autonomous ships, in the regulatory framework; underlines the importance of upskilling/reskilling programs for the workforce in the maritime sector as digital expertise and capabilities will be essential in driving the sector forward, ensuring Europe maintains its global leadership status and protects employment;
