Welcomes the European Commission's proposal to establish a Just Transition Fund in order to boost investments in climate-friendly technologies; stresses that the fund also aims to compensate efforts, requiring several economic sectors to comply with the EU’s climate objectives; warns that the money used for the constitution of the just transition fund should not impact the overall level of cohesion allocations; recalls the European Parliament's position to maintain the level of cohesion funding in the next MFF; notes that some existing cohesion funds already contribute to the fight against climate change.
