A change of the status quo in the Taiwan Strait must only take place by peaceful means and with mutual consent, by supporting initiatives aimed at promoting peaceful resolution, dialogue, cooperation and confidence- building between the two sides; prepare a scenario-based strategy for tackling potential security challenges in the Taiwan Strait; support any reinforced EU policy of deterrence vis-à-vis China in view of maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and in the Region, and more largely in the East and South China Seas;
