Insists that the Euro is currently the single currency of the Euro Area, but must be considered as the currency of the European Union; the ECB must observe it's mandate and defend, preserve and improve the value of the Euro; this effort must be aligned with the support to the general economic policies in the Union, contributing therefore to the achievement of the objectives laid down in article 3 of the TEU; the enlargement of the Euro to all 27 Member States must be a permanent goal, to be achieved with a realistic, proportionate and responsible calendar, safeguarding the stability and competitiveness of the Euro Area;

The principle of intergenerational solidarity must be enshrined in the treaties in order to set, as an European objective in the area of economic governance, the goal to preserve our economies competitiveness, sustainable levels of public debt, and responsibility in the budgetary policies; this principle must lead the Union to stand for clear national strategies to guarantee the sustainability of public finances and the quality of public services;
