Notes that the upcoming revision of the Financial Regulation should take into account the autonomous strategic interests of the EU, including the need to stimulate EU job creation in key industries, while ensuring a level playing field for fair competition; calls on the Commission to ensure that ambitious award criteria are set, taking particularly into account the Union added value of projects, as well as the principle of the “most economically advantageous tender";

Notes that the Commission proposal for the Regulation on the Foreign Subsidies Instruments addresses potential distortive effects of foreign subsidies in the EU Single Market and is a key element to deliver on the updated EU Industrial Strategy; calls on the Commission to take into account the latter in the upcoming revision of the Financial Regulation in order to guarantee fair and competitive conditions in the EU Single Market;
