Stresses the importance of realizing strategic projects like the bridge connecting the island of Sicily to the rest of Italy (“Ponte sullo stretto di Messina”) within the Scandinavian - Mediterranean Corridor; highlights that this project would have an important European added value for all EU Southern area and it would ensure an economic boost to the region, with an increased cohesion, social and economic benefit for all citizens and activities in the Mediterranean Sea; calls on the Commission to include this project within the upcoming revision of the TEN- T Network;
