Stresses that in order to effectively harnass talent in EU regions, particularly rural areas, fairer land governance and tackling rural land grabbing at national level is crucial; Notes that land grabbing can be generally considered to be the legal or illegal control of ‘larger than locally- typical’ amounts of land by any persons or entities for purposes of speculation, extraction, resource control or commodification at the expense of local rural communties, affordable land costs, family farmers, generational renewal, agroecology, agroforestry, land stewardship, food sovereignty and human rights.
