Considers that a broad series of factors influence the price transmission mechanism and the gap between producer and consumer prices; names among these factors the marketing behaviour of retailers, the share of non-agricultural costs (such as energy and labour), legislative and regulatory frameworks, the special funding needs of the farming industry, the perishable nature of the product, the degree of product handling or consumer purchasing preferences;
