Considers that in certain situations profiling constitutes a legitimate tool for law enforcement and border control; believes, however, that, in the absence of adequate legal restrictions and safeguards as regards the use of data on ethnicity, race, religion, nationality and political affiliation, there is a considerable risk that profiling may lead to discriminatory practices are required;
