Ich habe gegen den gemeinsamen Entschließungsantrag gestimmt, weil er die Gefahr einer massgeblichen Eskalation in der Ukraine-Auseinandersetzung signifikant erhöht. Es ist höchst unverantwortlich, in der Zeit, in der sich die Eskalationsspirale weiterhin in Richtung eines großen Konflikts zwischen Nato und Russland dreht, diesen durch Forderungen nach der Lieferung von mehr Rüstungsgütern zu befeuern.Meiner Ansicht nach hat das Parlament hier im Sinne einer Gesinnungsethik nicht im Sinne einer Verantwortungsethik gehandelt. Der einzig vernünftige Weg, der aus diesem Konflikt hinausführen kann, ist eine diplomatische Lösung.

Ich habe gegen die Entschließung gestimmt, weil diese ganz offensichtlich den Zweck verfolgte, dem Venezolanischen Volk vorzuschreiben, welche Regierung sie als legitim zu erachten hat und welchen Prinzipien sie bei der Wahl ihres politischen Systems zu folgen haben.Im Anbetracht der Tatsache, dass Venezuela ein anerkannter, souveränder Staat im Sinne der UN-Charta ist, sind solche Anwandlungen seitens der EU inakzeptabel.
