Amendments (11)

Amendment 32 #

2024/2019(DEC)

Draft opinion
Paragraph 8 a (new)
8 a. Considers that civil society and NGOs play an instrumental role in shaping policies that benefit society and our environment; recalls the commitment of the Commission in its political guidelines to step up its engagement with civil society organisations that have expertise and an important role to play in defending specific societal issues and upholding human rights; urges the Commission to revise its guidelines1a from May 2024 in order to ensure the continuation of the funding of NGO activities, including advocacy, under the LIFE programme; considers that discontinuation of this funding for all NGO activities would seriously undermine the voice of civil society in the public debate and would cause a severe reputational risk for the Commission; _________________ 1a Guidance on funding for activities related to the development, implementation, monitoring and enforcement of Union legislation and policy

Amendment 17 #

2024/0185(BUD)

Motion for a resolution
Paragraph 5
5. Notes the series of adjustments to the budgets of decentralised agencies, primarily in accordance with tasks assigned to them under recently adopted legislation; underlines that, in several cases, additional resources for a decentralised agency entail a corresponding reduction in the programme envelope; reiterates Parliament's long-standing position that new priorities require financing with fresh money;

Committee: BUDG
Amendment 22 #

2024/0185(BUD)

Motion for a resolution
Paragraph 7
7. Notes that Draft amending budget No 4/2024 entails an increase of EUR 2 million for Eurojust owing to inflationary pressure, which is clearly a challenge not only for all agencies, but also for all Union institutions and bodies; considers that, with inflation running above the annual 2% deflator by which the MFF ceilings increase and staff and operating costs for decentralised agencies under substantial pressure as a result, the current treatment of decentralised agencies’ budgets as separate from administrative spending under Heading 7 requires further reflection as part of the Commission’s preparations for the post-2027 MFF, including flexibility to adjust for changes in the mandates and tasks of the agencies during an MFF ;

Committee: BUDG

Committee: PECH
Amendment 30 #

2024/0176(BUD)

Draft opinion

Committee: PECH
Amendment 33 #

2024/0176(BUD)

Draft opinion
Paragraph 7
7. Recalls that, as a result of Brexit, the EU fishing sector and especially the small-scale fleet is still experiencing considerable economic disruptions especially with regard to the unilateral institution of fishing restricted areas in UK waters; calls on the Commission, therefore, as a matter of priority, to secure commensurate compensation to offset the damage suffered by the sector and fishing communitiespropose additional measures to support the sector and coastal communities; insists that Member States shall ensure that such measures are implemented swiftly; encourages Member States to monitor the implementation of the Brexit Adjustment Reserve (BAR);

Amendment 3 #

2024/0159(NLE)

Paragraph 4 a (new)
4a. Reminds that in line with Article 33 of the Financial Regulation Union funding needs to respect the principle of efficiency and effectiveness in addition to sound financial management in order for the financial support granted from the Union budget to fully deliver on the intended objectives; believes that any possible circumvention of an EU Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreement including, for instance, that with Guinea-Bissau through European boats and vessels with ownership or management link to European companies sailing and fishing under local flags possess a risk to the sound financial management and implementation of the Union budget; asks therefore the Commission to present an analysis of the impact of such circumventions on the efficiency and effectiveness of the implementation to the Budgetary Authority and to take corrective measures if needed;
