Points out that there is a pressing need to tackle the demand for new skills, particularly in the ICT field, needs to be tackled through training as well as through further education and lifelong learning, in the interests of promoting digital literacy and tackling the existing gender gap in order to enlarge the pool of highly qualified candidates; stresses that there is a pressing need to ensure that educational institutions ensure a better match between the skills of their candidates and the demands on the labour market.
