CWelcomes the initiative to negotiate a Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the EU and the US; notes that TTIP aims at eliminating tariffs, duties and quotas, but also at regulatory cooperation; believes that TTIP will unlock the hidden potential of all European industry sectors, stimulating growth and job creation; calls on the Commission to maintain the objective of including a specific energy chapter in the TTIP which could significantly increase the EU’s energy security;
