Stresses that protecting copyright and neighbouring rights is one of the necessary conditions for stimulating creativity and innovation, as well as for safeguarding cultural identities; believes that new legal models need to be established in order to protect forms of copyright suited to the online world without encroaching on fundamental rights such as the protection of privacy and data protection;
