9. Calls on the Commission to make available to the public, through service contracts ensuring full editorial independence, TV programmes in all 23 official languages, following the example of services provided by Euronews; considers that the Budgetary Authority should make available the necessary fundingdevelop measures to encourage exchanges of creative industry content among the Member States, in particular when that content can help to familiarise less educated groups in society with the diversity of the European Union; takes the view that language barriers within the European Union could be overcome by establishing special programmes to encourage translation;
