Stresses that the EU should continue to pursue its efforts at bilateral and multilateral level to ensure that third countries offer a level of openness towards foreign investments equivalent to that of the EU, and that they maintain a level playing field for EU operators; welcomes the EU’s proposal for a regulation establishing a framework for screening of foreign direct investments into the Union and supports its objectives to better protect critical infrastructures and technologies;
