Expects that the review of the ASEAN Charter will provide an opportunity to strengthen the role of the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights; notes with concern the adoption of the ASEAN Human Rights Declaration which undermines, rather than affirms, international human rights law and standards; stresses that ASEAN member states' obligations under international law supersede any conflicting provisions in this Declaration;
